My AMI

Your online account

Your insurance in one place

Your My AMI account has your insurance documents and key policy information, like your excess and sum insured, all in one place. You can also make payments, change your address, add a driver, manage your claims and more.

Inbox or letterbox – it's your choice

Log in to your online account and choose whether to get your insurance documents via email or post. Getting your insurance documents by email can be more secure with no papers to file or lose, plus it's a lot better for the environment.

Lodge & manage your claim

With Comprehensive car, Advanced and Premier contents, or any House policies, you can make claims online by logging in to your My AMI account. After you’ve made your claim, you can also view and manage it online by uploading supporting documents, pictures and files and checking its status along the way.


Only active vehicle, boat, home, contents or landlord policies can currently be used to register for an online account. At the moment, policies registered under a company name or trust names can't be used to register for an online account.


To get a My AMI account, click the Register button in the top-right corner of our website and complete the registration form. You'll need your Policy Number to complete the form, so it's a good idea to have it on hand before you start.

Once submitted, you'll receive an email with an activation link - please click the link to activate your account. Once activated, you'll be able to log in.

Please Note: only active car, boat, home, contents or landlord policies can be used to register for an online account. At the moment, policies registered under a company name or trust names aren't eligible for an online account.

You can reset your password online by following these steps:

  1. Click the "forgot password" link that is available on the login screen.
  2. Enter your the email address you used when you registered for your online account, and click the "send" button; you will receive an email shortly.
  3. Open the 'forgot password' email, and click the "reset password" button.
  4. Enter your new "password" and "confirm password". Click the update password button to save your new password.
  5. Log in to your online account with the new password.

Currently only car, boat, house and contents policies can be displayed online. If you have one of these policies under your individual name or as a couple and you can’t see it, don’t worry, it’s likely that we just haven’t added it to your online account yet.

If your policy is not displayed, you can submit a “Missing Policy Request” using the link on the Dashboard.

Once we receive the missing policy information from you, we’ll add your policy to your online account. Please allow one working day for this to be completed.

Receiving your insurance documents by email is:

  • Convenient – receive your policy documents anywhere, anytime
  • Simple - organise, file and view your policy information in a way that suits you with your My AMI online account or your inbox
  • Secure - receive your insurance policy information straight to your inbox through a secure link
  • Environmentally friendly – you’ll be doing your bit to reduce paper.

Once you've made the switch to email, insurance documents for any eligible current and future policies you may take out with us will be emailed to your chosen email address. It's easy to switch, just login to your My AMI account to update your preferences.

Your renewal email will include all the information that you would normally receive by post – just via a secure link to a downloadable PDF. You’ll receive your covering letter, premium advice, policy schedule and other information that forms your insurance contract with us.

Not all polices are able to be emailed, so you may still receive some renewal documents by post. These include:

  • Farm and lifestyle policies
  • Final notice letters
  • Cancellation letters
  • Some claims communications
  • AMI Breakdown service packs

Yes, you can set your preferences to email or post any time by logging in to My AMI.

Please keep in mind that email is our preferred way of sending you new or updated documents. Email is faster, more secure, and more convenient for many customers.

As part of moving to sending your renewal document by email, we've had to go through a bit of a clean up to make sure we had the right email addresses on file so your information remains safe.

You can check what email address we have on file, and update it if required, by logging into My AMI and updating your preferences.
