Will I have to pay the excess if a motor accident isn't my fault?

Depending on the circumstances, you may have to pay the excess even if an accident isn't your fault. However, you don’t have to pay an excess if your claim relates to an accident with another vehicle, and:

1. we can confirm that the person driving your vehicle was completely free of blame, and
2. you can give us the registration number of the other vehicle and the name and address of the other driver, and
3. the other driver acknowledges his or her involvement in the accident to us
