Is my car insured for agreed value or market value?

That depends on the cover you've chosen. We offer agreed value or sum insured on comprehensive cover, and sum insured only for Third Party Fire and Theft, motorcycles and caravans etc. We also offer 'fixed agreed value' for vintage classic cover.

  1. Agreed value means just that - we'll pay you the amount we agreed when you took out your policy. This is stated in your policy schedule. We may adjust the agreed value each year when you renew your policy, based on our best estimation of the change in the market value of your vehicle. Your vehicle’s new agreed value will be stated in the Policy Schedule.
  2. Sum Insured means we'll pay either the value you've insured the vehicle for or the market value of the vehicle at the time of the accident, whichever is less.
