Setting up an easy and secure direct debit

Go in the draw to win one of 10 $500 Prezzy cards1!

Simply set up a direct debit on any existing home, contents, landlord, car, or boat policy, and we’ll automatically enter you in the draw. The more policies you update, the more chances you have to win.

Terms and conditions apply

We’ve updated our accepted payment methods. For any new and renewing policies, unless you pay your annual premium in one lump sum, you’ll need to set up a direct debit from your bank account, debit, or credit card.

For new home, contents, or landlord’s policies purchased on or after 15 August 2024 it will not cost more to pay by instalments, and you will be able to choose fortnightly instalments. This will also apply to renewing AMI Home, Contents and Landlord's insurance policies after 26 October 2024. We’re making changes to make insurance easier for you, and these changes apply gradually across our products.

Direct debits can be set up to take payments made fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, or annually.

What is a direct debit?

At AMI, we make it easy to make payments, so that you can get back to doing the things that are most important to you.

A direct debit is a simple way to pay regularly. You set it up so we automatically take payments from your bank account, debit, or credit card. This ensures your payments go directly to the policy or service you selected, without you having to manage each payment yourself.

Key benefits of setting up a direct debit

A direct debit is the easiest way to pay for insurance. You can set and forget, knowing your insurance premiums are taken care of automatically.

Payment flexibility:

For new home, contents, or landlord’s policies purchased on or after 15 August 2024 it will not cost more to pay by instalments and you can choose to pay fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, or annually without any extra fees.  You can also manage the dates and preferred day of the week for your payments.

This will also apply to renewing AMI Home, Contents and Landlord's insurance policies after 26 October 2024. We’re making changes to make insurance easier for you, and these changes apply gradually across our products.

Set and forget:

Your payments will be taken care of automatically and your cover will be in place when you need it. We’ll provide you with information up front showing the total amount that will be debited and when. If you miss a payment, we’ll try again in 14 days. If you choose to pay fortnightly, this will be a double payment.

Many customers trust us to manage their payments directly from their account, and we assure you that in the unlikely event of an error, putting it right would be our top priority. We have strict industry regulations and standards to adhere to with the Financial Markets Authority, so you can be confident we treat our customers fairly.
