How do I set up a direct debit?

You can set up a direct debit online from your bank account by completing this form. If you'd like to arrange a direct credit from your Credit Card or speak to one of our team members, call us on 0800 100 200 with your bank account or credit card details and we'll set this up for you.

How do I change the bank account or credit card number for my direct debit?

To change your bank account number or credit card details have your bank account or credit card details available and call us on 0800 100 200.

What if my nominated credit card on my direct debit has expired?

If your credit card number or expiry date has changed, have your credit card details available and call us on 0800 100 200 and we can help make the necessary changes.

What payment frequency options does AMI offer?

We currently offer three payment options:
Monthly
Quarterly
Annual

Credit card payments

How can I pay my premium by credit card?

If you wish to make an immediate credit card payment, have your credit card details available and call us on 0800 100 200 or drop into one of our stores.

Our preferred method of payment is direct debit.

To set up a direct debit, have your bank account or credit card details available and call us on 0800 100 200.


Online banking

Can I pay by internet banking?

Our preferred method of payment is direct debit, however we appreciate you may prefer to pay by internet banking.

Please make separate payments for each policy you hold with us to ensure payments are allocated correctly.

Please also be sure to pay the exact amount required.

Bill payment instructions

Please follow the instructions provided by your bank; if unclear enter your 7 digit customer reference in the Code field.

  • Please make your payment by the due date stated on your policy account. AMI will process the payment on the next business day.

Internet banking 'Bill Payments' linked to AMI's bank account are available through the following banking providers:

For personal insurance policies please select 'AMI Insurance'

For business insurance policies please select 'AMI Business Insurance'

Internet banking instructions

If you are having trouble finding AMI listed on your banks "Bill Payments" list, or your bank is not listed above, please use this account number:

06-0801-0055108-08 and follow the instructions below.

  • Please include your name and your 7 digit Customer Reference number in the appropriate fields so that your payment can be correctly allocated to the desired policy.

Where do I find my customer reference number?

If you need help locating your 7 digit Customer Reference Number you'll find it in one of the following places:

  • On your New Policy Correspondence cover letter
  • On your Billing statement
  • By logging in via ami.co.nz and clicking on 'Request a Missing Policy'

Can I pay my premium on your website?

Yes you can with AMI online payments. You will need your policy number handy to make a payment.
