World Environment Day

The 5th of June was designated as World Environment Day by the UN General Assembly in 1972.

Since then, it’s been hosted throughout the world and with different mottos, but the same objective – supporting action and raising awareness. Millions of people around the globe take part to host events, celebrate and help make the earth a better place.

We thought there was no better time to tell you how we’re moving into a greener state of mind and to celebrate our partners’ successes in sustainability.

With the recent creation of our online accounts and the AMI app, we’re excited to soon be offering customers digital solutions to paper problems. We’ve heard your frustrations around how much paper we send out and we are pleased to announce we’re becoming greener! It won't happen overnight...but it will happen.

If you’ve already signed up for an online account, you will have noticed you can view your policy documents and download your policy wording, plus access all this through your AMI App. On their own green journeys, our partners are taking initiative to make less on an impact on the environment:

Bridgestone Tyres are suppliers of Bandag re-treaded tyres – tyres that are able to be recycled and reused again and again.

Z has implemented a sustainability code of conduct for all of their suppliers, and make sure they strictly stick to it. An employee recycling competition sparked the initiative to pace recycling bins on all forecourts for customers to use, and more of these forecourts are now home to charging stations for electric vehicles.
