Half Price AMI Breakdown Service Offer

Terms And Conditions

  1. This AMI Half Price Standard Breakdown Service offer ("Offer") is conducted by AMI, a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited, 1 Fanshawe Street, Auckland ("AMI").
  2. Information on the Offer and how to take up the Offer forms part of these terms and conditions. By opting into the Offer, customers agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  3. This promotion commences on 26 June 2016 and closes on 25 June 2019 ("Promotion Period").
  4. The Offer consists of half price ($16) AMI Standard Breakdown Service cover for a twelve (12) month term ("Term") for customers who hold or take out a Car Insurance comprehensive policy during the Promotion Period. Some vehicles are not eligible for the Offer including:
    • Commercial vehicles;
    • Vehicles weighing over 3 tonnes;
    • Vehicles insured under an AMI Vintage Car policy;
    • Vintage vehicles insured under an AMI Car Insurance comprehensive policy;
    • Unroadworthy vehicles;
    • Vehicles requiring special recovery such as the use of four wheel drive recovery vehicles;
    • Vehicles participating in rallies or races;
    • Vehicles not on public roads where permission for access has not yet been received;
    • Vehicles that have been left unattended;
    • Vehicles in an accident;
    • Vehicles not in New Zealand.
  5. New customers and existing customers that do not hold AMI Standard Breakdown Service cover must opt in to take up the Offer by completing the online form which can be accessed here, calling the AMI customer service team on 0800 100 200, or visiting any AMI store. For existing customers who opt in to the Offer, the Term shall commence on renewal of their AMI Car Insurance comprehensive policy during the Promotion Period. For new customers who opt in to the Offer, the Term shall commence on the Effective Date of their AMI Car Insurance comprehensive policy during the Promotion Period.
  6. The full terms and conditions relating to the AMI Breakdown service apply, and are found here. To the extent there is any conflict between the AMI Standard Breakdown Service terms and conditions and these AMI Breakdown service Promotion terms and conditions, these terms and conditions shall apply.
  7. Customers that select add-ons as part of their AMI Breakdown service will be charged for each add-on at the usual rate.
  8. The usual value of the AMI Standard Breakdown Service cover per twelve (12) months is $32.
  9. Customers who currently hold AMI Standard Breakdown Service cover will automatically be opted in to the Offer on renewal of their AMI Car Insurance comprehensive policy during the Promotion Period.
  10. Customers who cancel their AMI Car Insurance comprehensive policy during the Promotion Period will no longer be entitled to the Offer and their AMI Breakdown service cover will automatically be cancelled.
  11. At the end of the twelve (12) month term if you do not wish to keep the AMI Breakdown service you will need to cancel it. If you don’t you will be charged the AMI Standard Breakdown Service cover fee of $32.00 (current as at the date of these terms and conditions) and any add-ons for a further twelve (12) month term. AMI may change the AMI Breakdown service fees from time to time without notice.
  12. There is a limit of one AMI Standard Breakdown Service cover per eligible vehicle.
  13. The Offer is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. AMI’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. AMI reserves the right to terminate or amend any aspect of this Promotion or Offer without notice at any time.
  15. AMI and its related bodies corporate will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence) arising directly or indirectly, out of, or in connection with the Promotion or the Offer.
  16. AMI takes no responsibility for any misdirected, lost, incomplete, damaged, corrupted, incorrectly submitted or late online forms, or any human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed data transmission, computer or network failure, or any other interruption that may affect the conduct of this Promotion or the Offer.
