AMI Real World Tests

Congratulations to the Volvo XC90 for winning the new AMI Safety Award at the AMI NZ Autocar Car of the Year Awards 2015.

We decided to put the XC90 through its paces to see why it was chosen as the safest car for New Zealanders. Our real world tests were designed to see how safe it is to drive in a New Zealand context, because all the safety features in the world are useless if they don’t work down here in our world. Check them out below!

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System)

Do you know exactly how ABS (or Anti-lock Braking System) really works? Our recent poll showed that more than 1 in 10 people don’t know exactly what it does. Find out how it works by watching this Real World Test.

Lane Keeping Aid

Distractions and fatigue can be dangerous whilst driving, especially at high speeds on the open road. Watch how the Volvo XC90 Lane Keeping Aid can help keep you on the road and in your lane during a moment’s inattention.

Keeping your driveway safe - Reversing Camera

It is every parent’s worst nightmare, backing down the drive and not seeing a small child or family pet. The XC90 is equipped with an advanced 360 degree camera. Watch this Real World Test to see how this amazing new technology can give you a full view of the car to keep your driveway and family safe.
