Avoiding festive fails in your shop
The silly season is approaching frighteningly fast and shoppers are gearing up to start the annual gift-buying frenzy! ‘Tis the season to make sure your shop is stocked and ready to go this festive season. Here are some of our top-tips to help you get through one of the busiest retail seasons yet!
Get your customers into the Christmas spirit!
Making your shop look, smell and sound like Christmas is a great way to get your customers into the spirit. Colourful displays, scents (like Cinnamon), and of course Christmas music will give your shop the festive touch.
Easy to find Christmas displays
Christmas is one of the most stressful shopping seasons for customers, it’s important that you make the shopping process as easy as possible. Try separating your Christmas displays into real-life solutions – gifts for Dad, gifts for Mum, stocking fillers, Christmas best sellers etc.
Christmas is a time when customers feel the pressure to gift – if you’ve got some deals on offer make some promotional signs. Discounts and ‘buy one get one free’ screams Christmas shopping spree.
Layouts for Christmas shopping foot traffic
If your shop looks jam-packed it might deter potential customers from coming in – make sure there is enough space between your displays to accommodate the extra foot traffic.
Think about your display and put the things that customers are most likely to visit your shop for at the back, and put your impulse products at the front. This is a great way to encourage customers to walk right through the shop and get them exposed to other products along the way.
Cheer your tills up
Long queues are common during the Christmas shopping season and are a major deterrent for customers – consider putting in an extra till to accommodate.
Your tills are also a display space – place impulse items that compliment other products in your store here.
