From 14 December 2015 your policy has been underwritten by IAG New Zealand Limited
You may be aware that in 2012 AMI Insurance Limited (AMI) became part of the IAG group of companies in New Zealand (IAG Group). With effect from 14 December 2015, The Reserve Bank of New Zealand approved the transfer of the insurance business of AMI to IAG New Zealand Limited (IAG NZ). This was part of an internal reorganisation by IAG Group to reduce the number of licensed insurers it owns in New Zealand from three (IAG NZ, AMI and Lumley) to one (being IAG NZ).
What does this mean for you?
This means that from 14 December 2015, if you have an insurance policy that was previously underwritten by AMI, it changed to be underwritten by IAG NZ.
If you have an insurance policy already underwritten by IAG NZ, your policy continues to be underwritten by IAG NZ. The terms and conditions of AMI policies remain exactly the same. IAG NZ assumed the same obligations that AMI had under all policies.
The AMI brand will continue to operate as a distinct brand within IAG NZ’s business in New Zealand. You will continue to receive quality insurance cover and competitively priced policies, a customer focussed approach and a genuine commitment to supporting local communities.
