AMI Private Vehicle Cover is a full protection policy that includes an excellent range of "bonus" covers for no additional cost. What's more, for a slightly higher premium you can add one or more of our "optional" covers to your policy.

Maximum No Claim Bonus protection
To be eligible for freeBmax, a policy must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be either AMI Private Vehicle Cover or AMI Vintage & Classic Car Cover.
- Receive AMI's maximum No Claim Bonus discount.
- Have had no claims that would have normally reduced your No Claim Bonus discount (what we call a ’Bonus Reducing Claim‘) in the past 12 months.
With freeBmax, you can make up to two Bonus Reducing Claims on your qualifying policy in any 12-month period without losing your maximum No Claim Bonus discount. And freeBmax is exactly what it says, – FREE!
Agreed Value
Instead of insuring your vehicle for its market value, you can choose to insure it for a value that we both agree on. That way, you'll always know what you'll get if your vehicle is written off.
Cover if you damage someone else's
- vehicle - for example, if you are at fault in an accident
- property - for example, if you drive into a fence or lamp post (up to $20 million)

Excess refund
If your vehicle is involved in an accident where your driver was not at fault, and you have such details as the other driver’s name, address and car registration number, you won’t have to pay any excess, and you won’t lose your no claim bonus. The other driver must acknowledge their involvement in the accident.

A brand new vehicle
If your vehicle is written off while it is still less than a year old and has travelled less than 20,000 km, we’ll replace it with a brand new vehicle of the same make and model.

Glass excess buy-out
You won't have to pay any excess on claims for broken windows, windscreens or sunroofs, and you won't lose your No Claim Bonus.
Rental vehicle option (up to 30 days)
If your vehicle has been stolen or damaged and cannot be driven, we'll organise a rental car to get you around for up to 30 days for a special reduced rate.
