Affordable motor cycle cover
We offer motor cycle owners the choice of two levels of cover:
- full cover provides all of the cover and benefits outlined below
- third party cover provides cover only for damage you cause to other people's property through the use of your motor cycle.
Did you know...
An AMI motor cycle insurance policy can cover power cycles, motor scooters and mopeds as well as motor cycles.
Your full cover motor cycle policy covers your motor cycle, including its attached accessories, for accidental loss or damage anywhere in New Zealand.
Cover for your motor cycle
If your motor cycle is involved in a collision, vandalised or accidentally damaged we'll pay to repair it. If your motor cycle is stolen or written off, we'll pay you the market value of the motor cycle.
Motor cycle salvage costs
If your motor cycle is damaged and can't be ridden, we'll pay to move it to the nearest repairer. If your motor cycle is stolen and then found, we'll pay to return it to you.
Transport to get you home
If your motor cycle is stolen or damaged while you're away from your home town, we'll reimburse you for the cost of getting your motor cycle, yourself and an immediate family member back home.
Cover if you damage other people's property
We'll cover you for up to $20 million if you are legally liable to pay for any accidental loss of or damage to someone else's property caused through the use of your motor cycle. This also includes:
- cover if you use someone else's motor cycle
- cover if other people use your motor cycle
Legal defence costs
If you or any member of your immediate family is charged with manslaughter or careless driving causing death, we'll pay up to $1,000 towards your legal defence costs.
Buying a new motor cycle?
Get temporary cover for up to 7 days!
If your motor cycle is insured with AMI and you buy a new motor cycle to replace it, we'll provide automatic cover for your replacement motor cycle for up to 7 days.
